Innovation

Innovation is not something new or full of complex history. It is as old as mankind. From the very first day of human evolution, man has started innovation, by doing something new and unique with itself and its environment. innovation refers to creation and implementation of “new combination” of service, work processes, products and markets. Also, innovation is seen as:

i. Anything newly introduced for the social settings

ii. Idea based

iii. Intention based

iv. Introduced for the purpose to provide benefits

v. Accidental

vi. Not an in-routine change

vii. Affects public.

Everything is determined, the beginning as well as the end, by forces over which we have no control. It is determined for insects as well as for the stars. Human beings, vegetables or cosmic dust, we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance. An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come.

The Foundation of innovation

  1. Innovation is based on the historical analysis of evolutionary processes of real-world systems: products, processes, services, companies, markets.
  2. The systems were deliberately chosen of different natures, technology-based and not technology-based.
  3. The investigation focused on both the systems themselves and (mostly) on the relationships the systems had with their respective environments
